Understanding and research yield powerful creative briefs that result in successful design stories. I have a strong belief in listening carefully to find the story that is worth telling whether visual or written. Over the past 16 years I have designed hundreds of building interiors, client profiles and marketing campaigns. In 1997, my work on the Biltmore Hotel, Los Angeles was featured on A&E’s serial program ‘Grand Hotels’. The Biltmore Hotel restoration project was an opportunity for me to showcase my innovative thinking and ability to tune into my surroundings to create a captivating design story. When the economy all but stopped construction in its tracks in 2008, I made a decision to become more than just a creative talent. I enrolled in The Art Institute of Colorado to pursue a degree in Design Management and avail myself with the business and communication skills needed for a sustainable career in the creative economies. My focus has moved from the design details towards the strategy and marketing of the ‘idea’. In 2010 my work with Art Director’s Club of Denver, Denver Aurora Visual Arts and Philosophy Communication garnered the Voter’s Choice Award at the 2010 ADCD Paper Fashion Show. During this same time I worked on the Clarion award winning “Uncover the Genius” campaign promoting Montessori Children’s House of Denver. Armed with strong communication skills and a passion for uncovering the story I am looking towards the future of integrated media management with gusto. I relish supporting and managing creative personalities.
